Bio:
Dr. Julie Pham is a bestselling author, TEDx speaker, and founder of CuriosityBased, a consulting practice that helps organizations build cultures of curiosity, trust, and collaboration. Known for her engaging, thought-provoking talks, Dr. Pham combines storytelling, audience participation, and practical frameworks to help teams communicate more effectively and work across differences.
Her insights draw from a uniquely nontraditional career path. Born in Saigon, Vietnam, Dr. Pham came to the U.S. as a refugee and was raised in Seattle. She earned her PhD in history at Cambridge University as a Gates Cambridge Scholar and graduated magna cum laude from UC Berkeley. She later ran her family’s Vietnamese-language newspaper during the Great Recession—an experience she describes as her “real-life MBA.”
Dr. Pham has worked as a journalist, historian, marketer, nonprofit executive, and management consultant. Her book, 7 Forms of Respect: A Guide to Transforming Your Communication and Relationships at Work, is an Amazon #1 New Release and is used by teams across sectors to spark more meaningful conversations.
She has been recognized with numerous honors for her leadership, including the Female Founders Alliance Champions Award, German Marshall Memorial Fellowship, Harvard Business School’s Young American Leaders Program, and Puget Sound Business Journal’s “40 Under 40.”
