Quit Hitting Snooze™ on Tough Conversations: The Hidden Cost of Avoidance

Unspoken frustrations, missed deadlines, and tiptoeing around real issues erode trust and slow results. Grounded in her TEDx Talk and Quit Hitting Snooze™ framework, Courtney reveals how avoidance becomes leadership’s biggest trap and equips leaders with a practical process to handle tough conversations with clarity and confidence.

Participants will discover how to:

  • Separate facts from assumptions so tough conversations begin with clarity instead of defensiveness, blame, or emotional storytelling.
  • Address issues earlier before small concerns become bigger problems that damage trust, credibility, productivity, and performance.
  • Explore perspectives before jumping to solutions so tough conversations lead to better understanding, stronger relationships, and clearer next steps.

Leading Through the Uncertainty: How Leaders Can Communicate Change with Clarity & Confidence

New policies, reorganizations, shifting priorities, and new technology are part of leading any team. Even necessary changes can create frustration, uncertainty, and resistance among employees, making it harder to keep performance and morale steady.

In this interactive session, Courtney explores why employees respond differently to change and introduces three critical conversations that help leaders reduce resistance, build trust, and sustain change initiatives.

Through practical scenarios and her CIA communication model, participants learn how to communicate change with greater clarity, address concerns before they escalate, and keep their teams moving forward.

Participants will discover how to:

  • Recognize five common employee needs during change and identify what’s driving uncertainty or resistance within your team.
  • Apply the CIA communication model to explain changes in policies, priorities, and operations with greater clarity and confidence.
  • Prevent three common communication breakdowns using practical conversation strategies that reduce tension, strengthen trust, and maintain team performance.

The EQ Advantage: The Emotional Intelligence Skills Every Leader Needs

Leading people means managing more than tasks and deadlines. You’re balancing competing priorities, leading different personalities, handling difficult situations, and holding your team to high standards, often under pressure.

How well you manage your own emotions and respond to those of others can make or break your effectiveness as a leader.

In this engaging, practical session, Courtney Ramsey explains the four core components of emotional intelligence and shows how they influence team performance, customer and stakeholder relationships, and leadership effectiveness. Participants walk away with actionable strategies to manage their reactions, strengthen relationships, and lead with greater confidence and influence.

Participants will discover how to:

  • Identify emotional triggers and manage your responses to make better leadership decisions, respond more effectively under pressure, and positively influence those around you.
  • Build stronger relationships with employees, peers, and senior leaders through more effective communication and greater emotional awareness.
  • Navigate stressful situations, challenging interactions, and workplace conflicts while maintaining professionalism and trust.
