Bio

Eamonn Carey is an entrepreneur, investor, author and TV personality. He started, scaled, succeeded and failed with several startups in Europe and the Middle East —including Farmvillain — an app which some described as the ‘South Park of Facebook’. He first started building games (as an eight-year-old) to impress girls in the late 1980s. His efforts were unsuccessful. His love for technology lived on in spite of that fact.

He is a General Partner at Tera Ventures, where he invests in pre-seed and seed deals in the Nordics, Baltics and beyond. He was formerly a Managing Director at Techstars in New York and London, as well as a partner at The Fund. As an angel and VC, he has invested in over 100 companies across Europe, the United States, Africa and Asia. Carey started his career as a journalist, before starting his first company in 2007. He is a regular speaker at major international events including SXSW, Web Summit, Mobile World Congress, Slush and more. In 2022, his first book, The Startup Lexicon was released, and in 2023, he appeared as a judge in the Amazon TV reality TV show 'Ready, Set, Startup'.

Ken Valledy is a Partner/co-founder at Progressive Acceleration, where he helps global brands (inc.P&G, Mercedes, GSK) to successfully partner with best-in-class startups. Ken provides mentorship support across a range of Startup Accelerator programs, including; Techstars, Startup Boot Camp, Block.dojo, FemTechLabs, Mass Challenge and LMarks. He is a regular panelist/speaker at startup-related conferences and hosts the popular ‘The Catalysts’ podcast, which focuses on the key benefits of corporates and start-ups working together

Before venturing into the world of startups, Ken had over 15 years FMCG/CPG Brand Marketing experience and was a former Brand Director / Consumer Connections Director (Western Europe) at ABInBev. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing. In 2022, Ken's first book, The Startup Lexicon became a bestseller.

Together, Ken and Eamonn bridge the worlds of corporates, startups, innovation and inspiration - having worked with some of the biggest brands in the world - including AB InBev, Barclays, Amazon, Google, O2, American Express, P&G, Mercedes, GSK and many others.
